By the way, congratulations to Barça on winning the Champions League, fantastic performance and fantastic result. Even though I support Barça, I too was carried away by the UK media, thinking Man Utd would be too strong for them. But, apart from the first 8 mins or so, it was almost total domination by Barça, especially Xavi and Iniesta. Fantastic first season for Pep Guardiola too, what an amazing start to the management game for him – treble in first season!

FA Cup Final 2009, Wembley Stadium

Never thought I’d be cheering on the blues in the FA Cup Final, but today I was, with Everton in their home kit and Chelski playing in yellow away kit.

On a gloriously sunny day, Saha put Everton ahead with the fastest FA Cup Final goal ever, after 25 seconds, even faster than Roberto di Matteo’s goal a few years back.

Drogba got his usual cup final goal and things were even stevens 1-1 at half time. Quite an open first half, especially as it could have been a real 0-0 bore draw.

Second half a bit slower, probably due to the high pitch temperatures, with ITV saying temps of around 41C in the sun.

Frank Lampard’s goal in the 72nd was the winner for Chelski, hence I turned the tv off at the final whistle.

Still, there’s always the hope that Abramovich will get bored with the whole Chelski affair and pull the plug on them.
